On June 25, 2011 at Lake Eola Park Orlando, Florida, I celebrated with my fellow Caribbean people, honorary Caribbean’s, well wishers and friends the Annual Caribbean Heritage Month Festival. Quiet a momentous occasion. It was a beautiful day, sunning, and a true sense of pride, just floating in the air.  On each face I noticed, the “everything is ire” expression. For me this was not only a day to have visitors come and be a part of this humble yet privileged event, but it was knowing that we matter, and our culture was for everyone to explore, and broaden their horizon. As I visited one booth to the next, one mutual resemblance was evident a healthy smile from each entrepreneur. Caribbean people are known for their strong will to survive, their sense of color and flavor, which was beautifully displayed that day. As we all brazed the heat in search of the next exciting activity, I could hear the sound of the steel bands going and my hips started to react to the rhythm. As the great Bob Marley would say, “when the music hits you feel no pain”. For a moment I pretended that I was under a coconut tree sipping on some cold red stripe beer. On the stage there were so many actives to fill the eyes and calm the heart. As I watched the young talented ladies model with such grace, showing off their beautiful attire, and waving their flags for each island, It was an amazing site. It did not take long for my nose to smell the whiff of Jerk chicken, curry goat, oxtails, patties, coco bread, and oh! I had to part take of such niceness. I walked over, and had some jerk chicken and veggie patty. Mi mouth just water as the flavor from the food tickle my taste buds. If you were not present you missed out, but don’t get sad there is always next year. I encourage you to support this event, represent your island,  after all its in our honor.  Out of many we are one.1

This is a beautiful and well written piece about our annual Caribbean Heritage Festival. If I wasn't at the Festival this year I would be very disappointment with myself because it was just a lovely and ire day. We met so many beautiful people from all over the Caribbean and even America. See you next year

Well said. Truly sounds like it was little bit of heaven on earth.
